Job Title: Welder
Location: Prince George, British Columbia
Shift: Morning, Night, Overnight
Wage: $20.60/Hour
The Opportunity
Responsible for welding and fabricating various heavy equipment (Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Feller Bunchers, skidders, Cranes, Forklifts, and other machinery / machinery components.
The Role
- Weld and fabricate a variety of heavy equipment (e.g., cranes and forklifts) and machinery components.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
- Perform welding repairs on equipment, as necessary.
- Fabricates brackets, mounts, and piping.
- Welds and repairs customer units as required.
- Read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.
- Cleans and performs minor repairs on welding equipment.
- Participate in all required Health & Safety Training.
- Comply with the Health & Safety program and practices.
- Performance of daily duties in a manner conducive to a safe workplace.
- Comply with Wajax policies and procedures.
- Meet requirements of Job Hazard assessments.
- Maintain all required certifications.
- Hydraulic and mechanical experience an asset
The Candidate
- Education : Welding Technician Certification, certified with Canadian Welders Bureau
Work Experience : 1-2 years - Mechanically inclined
- Knowledge : Ability to fabricate without drawings; additional certifications : Forklift Operator and Crane / Rigging; basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.
