McCain Foods (Canada) has an immediate opening for a Packaging Operator.
Qualifications:
- o Grade 12 or GED
- o Must be able to work shifts on a rotating basis
- o Knowledge of computer operations an asset
- o Experience with packaging machinery desirable
- o Must be mechanically inclined and able to withstand heavy lifting (up to 30 lbs. unassisted)
- o Ability to work with minimal supervision
- o Ability to respond to unexpected circumstances calmly and responsibly
- o Ability to accept and embrace change in the day-to-day operations
- o Successful completion of training period
- o Must be willing to cross-train on other packaging equipment
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- o Set up of machinery (includes computerized equipment)
- o Changeover of machinery
- o Operation of machinery
- o Upkeep of tool shadow boards and changeover carts
- o Quality checks of machine operations and materials
- o Cleaning of work area
- o Attend team meetings when required
- o Must follow “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMP’s)
- o Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPI’s
- o Filling out paperwork accurately
- o Ensure product codes are correct
- o Other duties as assigned
