Job Title: Bakery Production Associate
Location: Harvest Hills, AB
Shift: Morning, Night, Overnight
Wage: $22.60/Hour
Company Introduction: T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 31 stores across the country: 13 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 10 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.
The Role: Reporting to the Bakery Production Supervisor, this position is responsible for supporting the Bakery Production Supervisor producing the assigned Bakery products (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries) based on orders received, control quality, freshness, inventory and wastage.
- Major Responsibilities: Produce the correct quantity of assigned products (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries) based on orders received.
- Perform production duties as assigned for various products (Bread, Cake, Puddings &/or other Pastries), which may include but not limited to:
- Dough mixing, cutting, rolling, laying, forming, filling, shaping, slicing…etc.
- Prepare various fillings such as fruits, meat, paste, custards…etc.
- Control fermentation and baking time, monitor temperature of cooler and oven
Decoration of Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries - Control product (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries) quality, freshness, inventory level and wastage
- Responsible for cleanliness, hygiene, equipment and tools maintenance follow up and workplace safety of the production area
- Answer customers’ enquiries
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
- Accountable, pleasant and is able to take initiative
- Possess knowledge and prior experience in making bakery products (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries), including but not limited to:
- Dough mixing, cutting, rolling, laying, forming, filling, shaping, slicing…etc.
- Prepare various fillings such as fruits, meat, paste, custards…etc.
- Control fermentation and baking time and monitor the temperature of the cooler and oven
Decoration of Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries - Possess knowledge in workplace health & safety and food safety (Food Safe Certification requires)
- Have a good understanding of tools & equipment relevant to the job
- Good communication skills, able to communicate in English and Chinese (Cantonese &/or Mandarin) an asset
- Good organization, and problem-solving skills
- A good team player
- Flexible to work in various shifts, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, morning and evening hours
