The interface between fundamental science, philosophy and quantum technology PhD scholarship at University of Queensland, Australia
Deadline: 6 July 2024
Scholarship Description: The primary purpose of this position will be to conduct experiments the research goals of the FQXi grant “Information as Fuel for a Quantum Clock”. Using superconducting devices, the project will demonstrate the equivalence of information and fuel for a quantum clock, formulate the thermodynamic constraints on time keeping and demonstrate the limits to the accuracy of such clocks arising from the quantum limits to information extraction. The project will be conducted in close collaboration with a theoretical team led by Prof. Gerard Milburn.
