About the Role:
RNS Health Care is currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our home care team. As a PSW, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in the comfort of their own homes. A Day to day look at the role:
- Assist clients with their personal care needs, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide assistance with mobility and transfers, ensuring client safety and well-being.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as tidying up, laundry, and maintaining a clean and organized living environment for clients.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities and provide companionship.
- Observe and report any changes in clients’ physical or mental condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and complete necessary reports.
Who We are Looking For:
- Must have reliable transportation; this includes a valid Ontario Driver’s License and automobile insurance
- Day or evening availability with ability to work alternating weekends.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (includes reading, writing and conversing).
- Experience working in a home care or similar environment is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to work with individuals with diverse needs.
- Ability to work independently.
- Previous experience working with elderly is considered asset.
What You Will Need to Succeed:
- Successful completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate program.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
- Completed Police Records Search for the Vulnerable Sector within the past 6 months
- Proof of a 2-step TB Skin Test (Mantoux) completed within the last 2 years
- Reliable transportation to travel to clients’ homes, and proof of auto insurance.
