Job Title: Child & Caregiver Support Worker
Location: Meadow Lake, SK
Shift: Morning, Night, Overnight
Wage: $28.96–$36.30 an hour

The Opportunity

We are looking for dynamic individuals who are devoted to helping others and improving the lives and well-being of children and families to join our team of Child & Caregiver Support Workers in our Meadow Lake office. In this role, you will provide a range of services designed to provide protective, preventative and support services to children and their families using the P.R.I.D.E. model and The Family Centered Case Management Model of practice.

In this position, you will:

  • Be responsible for casework and resource planning related to a variety of programs for children in care, foster families and/or extended family caregivers;
  • Work effectively and positively to support regional directions that continuously improve or enhance service delivery to children and their families;
  • Deliver training or facilitate groups for educational/support purposes;
    Conduct family assessments for prospective adoptive, foster or extended family-based caregivers;
  • Facilitate placements, providing post-placement support and maintenance;
  • Provide support for caregivers to develop planning in children’s best interests and work to establish the supports required;
  • Work with foster parents/caregivers to plan and prepare for the child’s return home;
  • Act as a liaison and consultant where required, with FNCFS and other community agencies, on matters relating to service delivery for caregivers and decisions regarding children; and
  • Complete documentation in accordance with professional standards of practice.

  • Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure access to services and resources; and

To qualify for this position, you will possess a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work degree from an accredited university, as approved by the SASW/CASW or CASWE; OR a Human Service Degree* plus relevant related experience; OR a Social Work Certificate plus relevant related experience. All out-of-country education must be assessed as accredited for Canadian equivalency.

  • Human Service Degrees include a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and/or Psychology, Education, Human Justice, Indigenous Studies or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Psychiatric Nursing plus relevant related work experience.

All candidates must possess a current driver’s license valid in Saskatchewan, as the successful candidate will be required to travel, work flexible hours that may include evenings or weekends, and transport children (or parents) in service delivery.

Meadow Lake
