Hello Stratford and surrounding area. A.O. Smith Stratford location is looking for a hard-working employee to join our team in a full-time, permanent basis as a Utility Worker in Training – Class 4. In this position, the employee will work on the afternoon straight shift – Monday to Thursday from 3:30pm to 2:00am (4 x 10-hour shifts). The employee will learn a few advanced processes involved in producing our water pump tank products. A.O. Responsibilities include:
·Must be willing to learn and to perform some of our more advanced necessary operations associated with job class four (4) such as the powdered paint booth, Hydraulic deep draw press, and or our automatic welding cells
·Supply relief, perform rework, and aid bottleneck work areas when required
·Perform tasks safely and efficiently
·Educate, train, and support fellow employees to perform tasks safely and efficiently
·Must be self-motivated to keep plant running efficiently
·Promote and perform housekeeping
·Abide by company rules and procedures
·Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
·Must be willing to work periodic overtime shifts
Skills:
·Experience in a manufacturing environment
·Knowledge/experience of the following processes: powdered paint booth, hydraulic deep draw press, and or welding cells are an asset
·Preference is given to individuals who have experience with a hydraulic deep draw press or similar large machinery operation
·Forklift License is an asset
·WHMIS and other Advanced Health and Safety training is an asset
Education:
- Grade 12 diploma / GED required
